Long-time MPP Lou Rinaldi nominated to run for reelection in Northumberland—Peterborough South

Cobourg, ON – The Northumberland—Peterborough South Provincial Liberal Association is pleased to announce that Lou Rinaldi has been nominated as the Liberal candidate for the 2018 provincial general election. Rinaldi will run to be the first MPP for the new provincial riding.

Rinaldi’s continuous dedication to public service spans 25 years. In former roles as councillor, deputy reeve, reeve and mayor, and currently as MPP, Lou ensures that his neighbours and constituents have strong representation. He is well-known for championing constituent concerns at the provincial level, and has developed strong relationships with his colleagues at Queen’s Park. Lou Rinaldi also serves as Ontario Liberal caucus chair and parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Municipal Affairs.

“I’m delighted to be acclaimed as the Ontario Liberal Party Candidate for Northumberland—Peterborough South. I look forward to continuing the hard work and delivering for the residents of Northumberland and now the eastern portion of Clarington, Otonabee—South Monaghan, Hiawatha First Nation and Asphodel Norwood.  I know this position is a privilege and it has been my honour to serve the constituents of Northumberland-Quinte West for over a decade. It would be my distinct pleasure to serve the constituents of the new riding of Northumberland—Peterborough South as their first MPP,” said Lou Rinaldi.

Lou Rinaldi is a small business owner, co-founder of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce, chair of the Quinte West Economic Development Corporation and a Rotarian. He will continue to represent his constituents and work to deliver economic growth, reliable health care and high-quality public education.
